Vines and Good Vibes: 2025 Growing Season

I hope your summer is heating up in the right ways and there have been a few bottles of The Set wines to cool you down.

Here in the Sta. Rita Hills, the growing season is well underway. Hard to believe harvest is only a few weeks away. In the vineyards, the clusters have formed up, and our focus is now to help guide all of the energy in those vines into accumulating sugar in those grapes. We’ve thinned out leaves to encourage even ripening so that there is good airflow through the vines, and tucked the tops of the vines in to help manage the canopy and keep our rows tidy.

We’ve got rough tonnage estimates across the blocks, and the ’25 harvest is looking healthy! We have another great vintage in the making and a lot to look forward to.

In the cellar, all of the wines from ’24 are in bottle and labeled – more on those to come soon.

’25 will be the fourth vintage for The Set, and so far, it has been incredibly gratifying to hear the great responses to the wines and to the story so far. We chose the name The Set as a nod to our love for music, and as a reflection of Santa Barbara County and all of the wonderful things that you can grow so well here – but in talking with people over the last year, it has become clear that there are many interpretations of the name, and that is very cool. It is my hope that as we continue to grow the brand, the name and the brand can expand on what it can mean as more people begin to participate in the story.

These wines are designed to be approachable, and I believe they are. I also believe they are a lot more than that too, so wherever you are on your journey with wine, or whatever you happen to be looking for from a bottle of wine, The Set has something that can deliver. If you have any questions or need help picking what to try, scroll down to see some of our picks, or hit reply and we will help.

Can’t wait for The Set to be a part of your good times, and let the good times roll.

Cheers,

Christopher Hines, Winemaker + Founder
