Manicuring = Tasty Grapes

Grapes naturally want to procreate, so oftentimes they have more fruit than they can ripen to the desired level of sugar for winemaking. In the winery, we try to manicure the amount of fruit each vine can have to ensure optimum wine quality at harvest. Often, this means removing shoots before they reach full maturity and taking off flowers before they mature, allowing the plant to focus on the fruit that’s already there and make it the best it can be.
